Marietta College's Landmark Experience puts real-world learning at the heart of every Pioneer's journey through internships, research, service, and leadership. Located in historic Marietta, Ohio, at the meeting of the Muskingum and Ohio rivers, Marietta College is a private, coeducational liberal arts college founded in 1835. Today, about 1,200 students from 32 states and 14 countries call our 90-

acre campus home. Students can choose from more than 70 majors, minors, and areas of concentration, all built on a strong liberal arts foundation. Signature programs include Petroleum Engineering, Athletic Training, McDonough Leadership, and Physician Assistant Studies, along with distinctive global partnerships. Just two blocks from downtown, Pioneers find a campus community where academics, athletics, and student life come together to create connections that last a lifetime. More than a third of our students compete on 23 varsity athletic teams in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while many more find their place in over 50 student organizations spanning academics, culture, recreation, politics, religion, and service. At Marietta College, every Pioneer is made for more through The Landmark Experience, a personalized approach shaped by initiative, inquiry, and impact that prepares graduates to lead with purpose and make a difference.

Kamryn Haynes '27 didn't just study abroad last summer. She completed a six-week International Financial Markets course through IES Study Abroad Milan, attending lectures four days a week and finishing the program with both a final exam and a business project practicum through a local Italian company.

For a finance and leadership student, that kind of hands-on international business exposure is hard to replicate anywhere else. Kamryn returned with a deeper understanding of global financial markets and firsthand experience working within a different business culture entirely.

And yes, she made it to Amsterdam, Florence, Verona, and Lake Como along the way.

It starts here.

PioSOAR welcomed our newest Pioneers to campus this summer, and this time it was official. From picking up welcome packets and meeting one-on-one with academic advisors to exploring campus and sharing lunch together, this was just the beginning.

At Marietta College, orientation is not just a checklist. It is where connections begin, questions get answered, and new Pioneers start to feel like they truly belong. An experience built around you, designed to help you grow, connect, and find your place.

Hinata Sotsuda '25 flew to Tokyo last summer for a two-week internship at Protiviti Japan, the Tokyo branch of a global business consulting firm. She wasn't there to observe. She and a team of interns consulted for a real client and presented their solutions directly to Protiviti's managers.

Every day ended with feedback from actual consultants. Not all of it was positive. A lot of it was critical. And according to Hinata, that was the most valuable part.

Learning how hard it is to move a real project forward, and having professionals tell you exactly where you fell short, is a different kind of education. Most internships don't offer that. Hinata's did.

Considering a career in clinical mental health counseling? Join Dr. Elisabeth Simpson, program director for Marietta College's new Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, for a virtual information session for students considering the Fall 2026 cohort.

This one-hour session will cover program requirements, the hybrid format combining online coursework with in-person residencies, and the clinical experiences that prepare graduates for licensure.
