We’re deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of our beloved former professors, Dr. Keith Drury. Our hearts are heavy with grief as we extend our sincerest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Dr. Drury during this time as they celebrate his lasting and impactful legacy.

Dr. Keith Drury was a valued member of the IWU community, teaching for 26 years as Associate Professor of Religion and Philosophy at both IWU Marion and Wesley Seminary. He is widely recognized in the Wesleyan world and beyond for writing hundreds of published articles and for authoring several books- most notably co-authoring The Story of the Wesleyan Church and writing Soul Shaper: Becoming the Person God Wants You to Be. His legacy endures as students continue to study the wisdom of Dr. Keith Drury through texts in their classes at IWU. He will be greatly missed by the greater IWU community and all those whose lives he touched.

Stay alert!

6:00 AM Tuesday, April 2nd Update: We continue to track what will likely be a substantial severe weather outbreak later today.

Showers and thunderstorms will diminish this morning and allow for ample clearing and destabilization of the atmosphere later this morning and into this afternoon. This will set the stage for a widespread severe weather and tornado outbreak later today.

Here is the current severe weather outlook today. It should be noted, we anticipate the moderate risk will be shifted west to include more of Indiana in the next update based on the latest guidance / trends.

Severe thunderstorms will develop across Western Indiana between 1 & 3 PM and will move across Indiana and into Western Ohio through the afternoon and evening hours. All of the storms that develop today will likely quickly become severe with a threat of damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes. Some of the tornadoes will likely be long lived and strong.

Today is a severe weather alert day. It is a day that you MUST stay weather aware and have a way to receive weather warnings. And if a tornado warning is issued, you must take it seriously and seek shelter in an interior room or basement.

The Sojourn Player of the Week goes to Chris Mace 🏆 He is a junior on the men's bowling team.

A few weeks ago he was named Crossroads League Bowler of the Week. He led the Wildcats in Fort Wayne at the 1st Crossroads Event back in December, led at the American Heartland Bowling Association Tournament, and led the Wildcats at the Scotty Classic!! 🥇 Keep up the incredible work.

This week, junior, Jamie Bryant is being recognized as an excellent writer for the Sojourn! He is a strategic communition major and heavily involved on campus. Jamie is the President of Internal Affairs for Ignite IWU & is a member of the IWU cheer team 📣 Something fun about him is that when he was younger he wanted to be a pop star 🎸
