🚨 BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON🚨

With falling snow on the way, winds expected to exceed 50 mph this afternoon, and snow on the ground, we've issued a blizzard warning through 6pm.

Conditions are expected to worsen quickly over the upcoming 1-2 hours with white-out visibility possible.

Conditions may also worsen across areas within the winter weather advisory, but with less snow on the ground, visibility drops may be less frequent.

Winds will decrease quickly after 6pm, which should help improve conditions quickly from west to east.

We are in a High Wind Warning with wind gusts of 50-60mph tonight potentially causing whiteout conditions, especially on...

❄️Our first measurable snowfall of the season is predicted tonight! Be sure to subscribe to SMSU Alert for weather closures for our campus.

Here’s a look at the snowfall amounts and timing, as a quick moving weather system pushes northeast across the area tonight and Tuesday morning.

Most of the snow, with amounts up to 5 inches possible, will occur in southern Minnesota, north of I-90.

South of I-90, little or no snow is expected.

🎗 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men in the United States experience severe intimate partner violence in their lifetime. At University Public Safety, we work with the Title IX office & campus and community partners like WoMen's Rural Advocacy Programs, Inc. to stand united against domestic violence. We believe every member of our campus community deserves to feel safe, supported, and heard—on campus and beyond.
💜 If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, help is available.
