Our last week’s Aspiring Educator Day was a success! We all learned a great amount about book banning through our panel with the amazing librarians at SMSU, staff members, and watched a documentary called The Librarians! This afternoon, on February 18, 2026, the Minnesota State Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Dr. David Jones as the 11th permanent president of Southwest Minnesota State University. A public presentation will be held on Thursday, February 19 at 3:00pm in the SMSU Conference Center Upper Level. We congratulate Dr. Jones and welcome him to his permanent role as president of SMSU.
