Iowa Valley Continuing Education (IVCE) is the non-credit unit of Iowa Valley Community College District offering training and courses throughout Hardin, Marshall and Poweshiek Counties. Continuing Education provides development courses for certification and relicensure of professionals; skills training for starting a new career or expanding your value on the job; classes that teach upgrades and t

he latest information in a wide range of topics; summer courses for youth; health and wellness; basic education classes for high school completion or English as a second language. There are classes to take just for fun or your own personal advancement or knowledge: upgrade your computer skills to utilize the latest technology; step out with dancing lessons, join a book club or a writing group! Try a new craft: create a design with metal or woodcarving and more. Join our Creative Retirement group whether you are retired or not and enjoy learning at lunch-n-speaker events, class series, and fun day or weekend trips. Marshalltown's Iowa Valley Continuing Education Conference Center is one of Central Iowa's greatest assets. Conveniently located in Central Iowa, just 60 minutes from Des Moines, 45 minutes from Ames, and 90 minutes from Cedar Rapids, the facility offers a variety of options to accommodate small group meetings of 8 to 10 to conventions of 200-300 persons. Tonight, we celebrated an incredible group of HSED graduates at Iowa Valley.

Each graduate arrived with a different story, different challenges, and different goals. Some are preparing for college. Some are advancing in their careers. Others are pursuing new opportunities for themselves and their families. What they all share is the courage to take the next step.

One of the most inspiring parts of the evening was hearing each graduate talk about their plans for the future. Their journeys are not ending with an HSED—they are continuing. This achievement is a milestone on a much larger path filled with possibility, growth, and purpose.

Dejardin Hall was filled with family members, friends, instructors, and supporters who came together to celebrate not only what these graduates have accomplished, but also what lies ahead. The pride, excitement, and encouragement in the room were unmistakable.

To all of our graduates: congratulations. Your hard work, perseverance, and commitment have brought you to this moment. We are honored to celebrate with you and excited to see where your journeys lead next.

A new CNA class is starting August 4 at Iowa Valley Grinnell — and seats fill fast.
This 76-hour program is fully approved by the Iowa Department of Inspection and Appeals. Complete it and you're eligible to sit for the State of Iowa nursing assistant competency exams.

📅 Class dates: August 4 – September 15 | 4–9 p.m.
🏥 Clinicals: September 18, 19, 20, 26 & 27 | 3–9 p.m. at Mayflower in Grinnell

To stay clinical-ready, the program requires 100% attendance and a 79% or higher on the final exam.
