We had a wonderful turnout for the CommUnity Center Banquet, “A Place at the Table.” We celebrated graduating seniors, volunteers, and advocates! The CommUnity Center, SPECTRUM, and the Women’s Student Alliance hosted over 20 special events this year and we had such a good time. Congratulations to Catherine Jones as the recipient of the annual Elliott McKeel Advocacy Award. Thank you to everyone who attended!

April 1, 2026, is UTM's Annual Captain’s Challenge! (Nope, no foolin'!) If you’re able to give, the UTM CommUnity Center would greatly appreciate your support. Donate here: challenge.utm.edu/community
One of the CommUnity Center’s key initiatives is providing free period products in women’s restrooms across campus. These supplies are essential but costly, and they help ensure all students can focus on their education.
Why it matters:
~Tennessee has a 7% sales tax on menstrual products—one of the highest in the country—making them less accessible.
~1 in 4 students experiences period poverty, which can lead to missed classes and difficulty concentrating.
~In Tennessee, over 1.4 million people menstruate, and 1 in 6 lives below the federal poverty level.
Your support helps make these resources available to students who need them most. Thank you so much!

The CommUnity Campfire was a hit! We had about 85 students come and go, make s’mores, and visit with one another. I loved hearing the laughter and stories, but especially glad they could just relax! 🔥🏕️Thank you Fox and Landon for helping me!
