🎓 Student Spotlight: David Brown

Meet David Brown, a UT Martin Online student pursuing his Master’s in Education Initial Licensure and preparing to graduate in Fall 2026! 🧡💙

A proud UT Martin graduate, David chose to continue his education with UT Martin Online because he already knew the quality of the university’s programs. The flexibility of online learning has allowed him to balance work, school, and family while gaining valuable experience as a teacher through job embedment with UT Martin.

One of David’s favorite parts of the program has been SPED 780 – Exceptional Students and Strategies for Differentiated Instruction, which provided practical strategies he can use directly in his classroom.

💬 David’s advice for current and future online students: “Never be afraid to ask questions and to talk to your professors. They’re here to help us.” He also emphasizes the importance of time management, discipline, and being proactive.

As David looks toward becoming a fully licensed teacher, he’s excited to see where his degree takes him next—and he may even pursue another degree along the way!

We’re proud to have David as part of the UT Martin Online community and can’t wait to celebrate his graduation! 🎓🦅

🌟 Student Spotlight: Latosha Starks-Bradford 🌟

Meet Latosha Starks-Bradford, a Jackson, Tennessee native who is pursuing her M.S. in Education – Initial Licensure (Elementary) through UT Martin Online and is on track to graduate in December 2026. She chose UT Martin Online because it aligned perfectly with her future goals, allowing her to continue balancing everyday life while working toward her dream of becoming an elementary school teacher.

Latosha has especially enjoyed her Teaching as a Profession course, which provided a strong foundation for understanding the important role and responsibilities of educators. She believes one of the keys to success in an online program is developing strong time-management skills from the very beginning—a habit that has helped her stay focused on her goals.

Beyond the classroom, Latosha has reached an exciting milestone by becoming a published author. Her first children's book, Harmonie's Bright Light, reflects her passion for education, literacy, and inspiring young readers. Her dedication to learning, teaching, and making a positive impact on children is an inspiration, and we can't wait to see all she accomplishes as she continues her journey.
