Oh my, we have had a busy semester, with the dog Dash, Midsouth psychological Association conference, mid western psychological association meeting in Chicago, Elizabeth Butler, and Diana Sanford (forgot to take a pictureļæ¼), and turning 50 (which is not as exciting as one might think)- another great semester is in the books. I am honored and humbled to help this organization and to buy them cake.

So proud of our Psi Chi president, Elizabeth Butler, for being nominated and presenting at the interdisciplinary writing conference. She was asked to read her paper, and she did a wonderful job. There were four students in this session, although one was ill, so you see the panel sitting behind her, another Psi, Chi, nominated student, Diana Sanford.

Karin4Kritters K9 Rescue, a shelter in Greenfield, TN, where I have helped for 17 years, suddenly lost the founder and director, Tabitha Beal Essary 2 weeks ago. I have stepped up as Vice President with Kim Hicks, dynamo aunt of Arnie Hicks to find homes for the remaining 30 dogs that are still there. Adoptions are slow at larger shelters so they are not taking anymore for now. This is a world wide problem because my cousin Jennifer MacKewn feels it in Canada with her Northern Animals Rescue and Sanctuary.

Student organizations were working hard organizing a 5k/1mile fundraiser, with the help of Laura Lawrence Brown and are still moving forward with it on April 13th in memory of Tabitha Beal Essary at the Martin Sports Complex In addition they are putting on a dog show, with famous judges (unfortunately Hank Williams Jr. was on tour) and there will be an adoption event where you can interact with and adopt a new family member. We also have a Facebook auction coming up with some creative baskets made by Caelan Schorr and Alyvia Taylor. You can get to the auction page Psi Chi University of Tennessee at Martin or I will post it here on my page and we will link it to the business pages of all of the generous business sponsors.

We are also lucky enough to have Sarah Taylor-Yates and Chad Yates at SLY Coffee come down to serve you amazing cold drinks and specialized coffee. We would love for the communities to come together for a few hours on Saturday morning for a good cause. All monies and proceeds will go towards the dogs for vetting, food, and care of the shelter. We are all volunteer based, as are most shelters and rescues.

We are down at the shelter on this wonderful sunny day from 11-3 pm. We would love some help walking dogs while we worm them and do a deep clean. It is never ending at the shelter, but when we get 2-3 extra walkers it makes so much of a difference. Thank you for your time, we know it is precious

Many have wondered if we would still be continuing with the race since Tabi's passing. We will be hosting Dog Dash as a fun run instead and will still be hosting our social media silent auction!

So get out your calendars and mark this fun and worthwhile event. We are still looking for business sponsors or new items donated to our facebook auction. Let me know and one of my students can pick it up.

You can walk or run 1 mile of 5km, you can even be a member of the "K4K Dash Team" and get a sponsor sheet and collect $1 from each friend for your participation.

We are incredibly saddened by the news of Ms Tabiā€™s passing. She was the heart and soul of Karin 4 Kritters.

At this time, we are planning to meet to discuss the future of our event Dog Dash.
We will keep the public updated with every decision.

Please keep Ms. Tabiā€™s family in your thoughts and prayers.
