Here’s some highlights from our Fall 2026 EPP Residency II Seminar!

Our future teachers from different field such as K–5, Secondary Biology 6–12, Health & Human Performance, Agricultural Education, Art, and Music came together for a day of collaboration, creativity, and hands-on learning.

One of the day’s highlights was the Teacher Toolbox Challenge, where students worked in teams to design engaging learning experiences while putting their creativity, communication, and teaching skills to the test.

Here’s a look at some of the teamwork, learning, and fun that made the day such a success! 🍎📖

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming our Fall 2026 cohort to the University of Tennessee at Martin’s Educator Preparation Program (EPP) for New Student Orientation! 🍎📚

The morning was filled with interactive activities, opportunities to connect with fellow future educators, and valuable information to help students prepare for their journey through the EPP. Students learned about admission requirements, field experiences, residency, licensure, advising, assessments, and the many resources available to support them throughout the program.

We also introduced students to the EPP Technology and Family Engagement initiatives, discussed Google Level 1 Certification, explored professionalism and ethics through our “Walk the Line” activity, and reviewed the Educational Disposition Assessment (EDA) to help students begin reflecting on the qualities of an effective educator.

We’re excited to welcome this incredible group of future teachers to the EPP family and can’t wait to see all they accomplish. Here’s to a great Fall 2026 semester and the beginning of an exciting journey toward making a difference in classrooms across Tennessee and beyond!

We are proud to announce the UTM Educator Preparation Program has earned national accreditation by demonstrating excellence in the areas of content and , and practice, candidate recruitment, progression and support, program impact, and and continuous improvement from the for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.

The CAEP Accreditation Council held its Spring 2026 review in April, during which the UTM EPP was approved under rigorous, nationally recognized CAEP Teacher Preparation Standards with no Areas for Improvement (AFIs) and no stipulations, reflecting the highest level of program quality and a significant achievement.

"Achieving CAEP accreditation reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff, students, alumni, school partners, and community stakeholders. I am deeply grateful for their support and partnership throughout this process and in preparing highly qualified, classroom-ready educators," said Staci Fuqua, Director of the Educator Preparation Program.

CAEP is a nationally recognized accrediting body for educator preparation. Accreditation is a nongovernmental activity based on peer review that serves the dual functions of assuring quality and promoting improvement.
