Fish anesthesia!! How exciting...Goldfish were anesthetized and the students listened to their hearts with a doppler. They were also checked for parasites by scraping their scales and looking at the sample under the microscope. Luckily none were found. 🐠🐟

The second year students are up to some pretty cool things. We recently visited Tollcrest Dairy in Wheatland to collect blood from the newborn calves. The protein levels are used as an indicator of their colostrum program success. Theses calves all had acceptable values, which is great news for the dairy's program.
