With the Putting for Presents Golf Tournament coming up in roughly a month and a half, we figured now was as good a time as any to let you know what we've been up to. There's far more to it than meets the eye - truly.

Participating in this year’s Putting for Presents Golf Tournament? We have some new that’s going to add an awesome touch to this little shindig - LIVE SCORING!

Download the Event Caddy app to your Apple or Android device ahead of the tournament and then follow these few simple directions to get your team set up!

1.) Once the app is downloaded, select TOURNAMENT PLAYER.

2.) Enter the phone number used to register yourself (or your team). If someone else signed your team up, they may have used their own number.

3.) BOOM, you should be good to go! Pretty simple, right? Be sure to update your team’s score each hole and check the leaderboard at the tournament check-in table when you grab lunch. You’ll also have access to the full leaderboard on your phone!

We're EXTREMELY fortunate to have the assistance of our local Maryville Elks at the year-end shopping event. If you want the honest truth, there isn't enough of us (law enforcement) locally to make the event happen on our own - not with as many kiddos participating as we've had the past half decade.

Nodaway County may be its own little island, but the Santa Cops for Kids program is making a splash. Sure the shopping event is big, but that doesn't include the $2K in donations the program provided to parents of children with medical conditions that required on-going treatment. It also doesn't include the donations made to two local schools to open food pantries within their buildings. It's really hard to put a value on this program, folks.

It's hard to put a size on the impact this little program has throughout the Nodaway County community. You'd think it'd be a one-and-done event during the holidays, but it's so much more than that. Seeing the physical and emotional reactions of participating families is utterly priceless.
