With freezing temperatures expected to once again dip into the 20’s overnight, South Texas College has announced a two-hour delayed opening for Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Business operations and face-to-face classes will begin at 10 a.m. and all staff members are expected to report at that time unless otherwise instructed.

All 7, 8, 8:30 and 9 a.m. face-to-face classes will instead be conducted online. Students should check with faculty for further instruction.

Again, STC is announcing a delayed opening of 10 a.m. for Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

**Self-service labs at every campus will be available to students at 8:30 a.m. for early access prior to the official campus opening at 10 a.m. tomorrow.

In an abundance of caution and with your safety top of mind, South Texas College has announced it will have a two-hour delayed opening on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.

Business operations and face-to-face classes will start at 10 a.m. and all staff should report to work by then unless otherwise instructed.

Please note, all 7, 8 and 9 a.m. classes usually conducted face-to-face will instead be conducted online.

🚨Weather Alert:

As Texas braces for an arctic storm, STC administration is keeping a close watch on the severe winter weather forecast for the Rio Grande Valley this weekend. Below normal temperatures, severe wind chills, freezing conditions and dangerous driving conditions are expected for parts of the state. Please stay tuned to STC's Mass Notification System, all STC social media and to your local media outlets for any updates over the next couple of days. In the meantime, stay warm and stay safe.
