The chosen candidate will be honored at commencement on June 23!

Candidates for the Distinguished Alumnus recognition should demonstrate exceptional achievement, leadership, and service that reflect positively upon the institution and its mission. Nominees may be evaluated using the following criteria:
Professional Achievement:
*Demonstrated excellence, advancement, and sustained success within their profession, industry, business, trade, or field of expertise.
Leadership and Innovation:
*Evidence of visionary leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, or significant contributions that have advanced their organization, industry, or community.
Community and Civic Engagement:
*Active involvement in civic, charitable, educational, workforce, or community initiatives that positively impact others and promote the public good.
Commitment to Education and Workforce Development:
*Support for education, training, mentorship, workforce readiness, student success, apprenticeship initiatives, or lifelong learning opportunities.
Service to the Institution:
*Meaningful engagement with the University of Arkansas at Monticello – College of Technology-McGehee through advocacy, mentorship, partnerships, philanthropy, recruitment, advisory participation, or institutional support.
Character and Integrity:
*Demonstration of ethical leadership, professionalism, integrity, accountability, and conduct that aligns with the values and standards of the institution.
Distinction and Recognition:
*Receipt of honors, awards, certifications, appointments, publications, military distinction, or other notable recognitions at the local, state, regional, or national level.
Impact and Legacy:
*Evidence that the nominee’s accomplishments have created lasting, measurable, or transformative impact within their profession, community, or industry.
Representation of Institutional Values:
*The nominee should exemplify the mission, vision, and spirit of the College of Technology and serve as an inspirational role model for students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
Alumni Status Requirement:
*Nominees must be graduates or former students in good standing of the University of Arkansas at Monticello – College of Technology-McGehee or Great Rivers Vocational School.
Additional Considerations:
*Years of professional experience
*Advancement despite adversity or barriers
*Contributions to economic or workforce development
*Regional or statewide influence
*Emerging leader versus lifetime achievement distinctions
*Military or public service contributions
*Industry certifications and technical expertise
