GREECE DAY 7/ OUR FINAL DAY: The Parthenon and a rooftop dinner โณ๐Ÿฝ by Bethel University Dual Enrollment Gleason School PreK-12 student, Hadley Garrison.

Our group finished our final day in Greece with a panoramic tour of Athens. We soon afterwards headed up to the Parthenon and the Acropolis museum. The sights were stunning and the museum was very insightful. After walking through the entire site we headed to downtown Athens where we spilt off, ate lunch, and did even more shopping. A few hours went by and it was time for dinner on the roof. We ate Greek salad, grilled Greek cheese, and log (a type of bread dessert). This experience in Greece has truly been one of the best experiences for our group, we made so many memories and bonded throughout all the hiking, siteseeing, and eating. We want to say a special thank you to Penelopi and Victoras, our wonderful guides. They have been so helpful and compliant with absolutely anything we needed. We want to also give thanks to everyone who helped fund our trip, we (literally) couldn't have done this without you guys! We will forever cherish the moments we had on this trip and will never forget all the laughs and odd conversations shared. As the Greek say ฮ‘ฮฝฯ„ฮฏฮฟ or Goodbye!!!

GREECE 6: The blue island Santorini ๐Ÿงฟ๐Ÿ๐Ÿซ by Bethel University Dual Enrollment / Gleason School PreK-12 student, Hadley Garrison.

We started an early morning with a quick flight to the magnificent island of Santorini. We toured around the beautiful city of Oia, known for its iconic blue domes with picturesque views. Then we jumped on the bus and headed to one of the highest peaks in Santorini where we were able to look down and see the amazing black beach from above. We then made our way down to the beach for lunch at Forty-One where we enjoyed burgers and fries. The wind blew us all over the beach where we stopped to take a couple quick photos. We ended our day with time for shopping, exploring, and snacking in Fira. We then had a very late flight back to Athens.

Fun Fact: According to Greek mythology, Santorini was created from a lump of earth that was thrown into the sea by Euphemus, Poseidon's son.

GREECE DAY 5: The future telling Oracle and Apollo's temple ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐Ÿช‰๐Ÿ“œ by Bethel University dual enrollment / Gleason School PreK-12 student, Hadley Garrison.

Our group hit the ground running this morning and made our way back to Delphi. We then visited the archeological site and museum located there. Walking through the museum we learned about the difference between Roman and Greek art over time. After walking through the last bit of the museum we visited the archeological site. When arriving there we got to visit the temple of Apollo (Greek god of poetry, music, and the arts) and the ancient Oracle where high priestess Pythia would predict the futures of people all throughout the region. These ruins were absolutely amazing to witness first hand. Soon after it was time for lunch, we headed up the road to grab a bite to eat at Omfalos. After our meal we boarded the bus and made our 3 hour drive back to Athens. When we arrived at Athens we checked into the hotel and went to dinner at Onos Tavern where we enjoyed several authentic Greek dishes. Then back to the hotel we went, stay tuned for tomorrow's post.

Fun Fact: The god Apollo liked cows, a lot.
