Our Exploring Careers in Healthcare Camp is the perfect way for them to gain hands-on experience in a variety of fields including nursing, OT, PT, lab sciences (biology and chemistry), athletic training, nutrition and dietetics, and applied health science. Would you choose to spend several months sleeping in a tent or trailer in a remote location with intermittent cell service? Beginning last summer, that's what Dr. David Foster did while on sabbatical this past fall. Pursuing an interest that began when he was 10 years old, Dr. Foster used the time to advance his efforts at cataloging and studying plant life among the Forest County Potawatami in northeastern Wisconsin. He recently shared his experiences with us through a presentation titled "Science, Language, and Relationship in the Forest County Potawatomi Plants." And, in case you were wondering, yes, he knew that he was on the reservation!
