Messiah University Murray Library Library for Messiah University. In 1914, the library’s collection numbered only between 300-400 books and was housed in Old Main. Murray.

Murray Library is your destination for in-person and online resources and services to assist you in finding relevant information for all your research needs for your courses. It’s a place to meet with friends for a cup of coffee at Café Diem, to work on a group study project, enjoy an inviting spot to study, or get individual research assistance from a librarian. In 1958, the library moved to its

current location. In 1977, the College expanded the library’s physical space even more, accommodating the growth to the library’s current collection of more than 58,000 square feet and over 300,000 print books. The interior of the building was most recently renovated in 2013 and the exterior steps were redesigned in 2020. The library is named for William Lynch Murray, the architect who designed the building, and his wife, Geraldine W. Special collections include the Ruth E. Engle Memorial Collection of
Children's Book Illustration, the W. Jim Neidhardt Collection, the Canadian Literature Collection, and the Artists' Books Collection.

Move over Flat Stanley… we’ve got Flat Murray Library on the move! Students Kate and Lauren took Murray to Macha Mission Hospital in Zambia as part of the nursing program. Macha Mission was established in 1906 by Brethren In Christ Church.

The study cubes were received thanks to a grant from the American Library Association and are available on a first-come, first served basis during the summer to campus and community users. Did you know that Murray Library can get materials for you from other libraries across the country if we don't own the item? Called Interlibrary Loan, this service also works in reverse; our materials also "visit" other libraries. Recently, alumna Taylor Maki emailed us her delight when she received a film from Murray Library all the way in Oregon at !
