Florida Tech was featured in the prestigious Invest: Greater Orlando 4th Edition report covering the region’s economic drivers, challenges, and business investment opportunities. President Nicklow took time to speak with Invest about how the university is using long-term campus planning, industry partnerships, and emerging technologies to keep pace with rapid growth on Florida’s Space Coast.

“Our mission is to educate global thinkers and serve as a talent pipeline to a fast-evolving technological world. To do that, we have to stay aligned with where the economy is going," President Nicklow says.

President John Nicklow joined U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody and Space Coast leaders today for a press conference advocating for the region to be selected as the home of the newly established U.S. Space Academy.

With world-class space infrastructure, a highly skilled workforce and a university preparing the next generation of scientists and engineers, the Space Coast offers an ecosystem unlike anywhere else.

“On the Space Coast, hard work is the norm. Space isn't just something students read about in textbooks. Students study propulsion in the classroom in the morning—and watch rockets leave the pad before sunset,” President Nicklow told the audience.

A night of leadership, connection and a little Florida Tech spirit!

Drs. John and Stacy Nicklow recently welcomed the 2026–27 President’s Ambassadors cohort into their home to kick off another year of service.

Each year, these outstanding students are appointed by the President in recognition of their academic excellence, leadership and civic engagement. As President’s Ambassadors, they represent the President and Florida Tech at campus and community events, support university initiatives, and help advance our mission. Go Panthers!
