Dr. Rodrigo Mesa-Arango, an expert in Freight Logistics and Transportation Network Modeling, joined the department of Civil Engineering at FIT in Fall 2015. His research areas include network modeling, behavioral analysis, traffic assignment, disaster management, transportation economics, and transportation planning. He has used complex network analysis to describe the evolution of the global mari

time trade network; implemented behavioral models into agent-based traffic simulations; developed frameworks to quantify highway network disruptions; proposed paradigms for empty trip estimation in freight transportation models; and studied the car truck interaction in dynamic traffic assignment models.
