Alpha Omicron Pi is an international women's fraternity promoting friendship for a lifetime, inspiring academic excellence and lifelong learning, and developing leadership skills through service to the Fraternity and community. ΑΟΠ was founded on January 2, 1897 at Barnard College on the campus of Columbia University in New York. Clair Mullan, Elizabeth Heywood Wyman, and Jessie Wallace Hughan. Th

e philosophy which the founders guided their principals included membership to women who share their belief in lifelong friendship, service and love. Membership should be offered to women regardless of ethnicity, religion or socio-economic background. Because the founders had ethnicities that included Jewish and Catholic backgrounds, this ideal was in place from the very beginning. The Kappa Omicron Chapter was established at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN in 1925, and continues to maintain the standards of excellence set forth by our founders.

“AOII has brought me pure joy and genuine friendship! Opening up my bid card three years ago and joining this sisterhood has remained one of the best decisions I have made during my time at Rhodes. I’m never worried about being anything other than my true, authentic self around my sisters - especially when I sang a *slightly modified version of Taylor Swift’s “22” to PC ‘20 or got pied 28 times in an hour🫣! They have poured into me, and have provided me with constant laughter, advice, love, and support. As I’m going into my last semester I look forward to cherishing every moment with these incredible women!♥️♥️♥️♥️”
