We had beautiful sunshine today for our visit to the former TB Sanatorium near Booneville. Took our lunch in Downtown Booneville at Rockin Robin’s Cafe. The food was hand made fresh to order, with free ice cream for dessert. We finished off our day touring the Cowie Winery and museum. Mr. Biggs showed us around Sanatorium Hill and arranged our lunch. Mr. Robert Cowie showed us around the Wine Museum and pointed out part of an antique wine press from Mena, AR and an empty antique blackberry wine bottle also from Mena, AR.

We had a great day yesterday touring the Booneville Sanatorium Hill and then Cowie Winery and Museum in Ratcliff. The weather did not effect our day at all. Thanks to the folks at Shane’s Diner in Caulksville for a great lunch too and especially our waitress Ms. Fluffy. Our day was a real learning experience thanks to Mr. Jimmy Biggs.

The U of A Rich Mountain Senior History Classes made their final visit to see the tulips 🌷 at Garvan Woodland Gardens today the 23rd of March. Once again we were delighted.

The Uof A Rich Mountain History Classes visited Garvan Woodland Gardens on Wednesday the 14th and today the 16th to see the tulips blooming. We were not disappointed.

The Ozark Regional History Classes had a beautiful day to tour Historic Cane Hill. It was a Presbyterian settled community dating back to 1827. Education was a priority among its citizens so the first formally organized school in NW Arkansas was established there as well as the first public library in the state.

Just want to remind everyone that we have a guest speaker today, Monday, 2-26-18. The speaker will begin at 10:00AM in the Ouachita Center speaking about the two Japanese Internment Camps located here in Arkansas during WWII. See you there. I will also have sign up sheets for upcoming trips.
