Paverson Games Paverson Games is an indie game development studio in Wisconsin (United States). Dave Beck is the creator, designer, and developer for Distilled.

Paverson Games is an indie game development studio owned and operated by Dave Beck, in Wisconsin (United States). While Distilled will be Paverson Games’ first official board game release, they have also created numerous video games and interactive historical experiences, including the award-winning Tombeaux, downloadable via Steam and itch.io

When Dave Beck is not making interactive experiences,

he is a Professor of Game Design and the Director and Associate Dean of the University of Wisconsin-Stout School of Art & Design, the largest higher education art and design program in the upper midwest. He is also the founding Director of the Game Design Bachelor of Fine Arts Program, which is ranked as one of the top game design programs in the country by the Princeton Review. Erik Evensen is the official artist and graphic designer for Distilled. Erik was the artist and graphic designer for Marrying Mr. Darcy, a strategy card game based on Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice. Mostly known for his comics work, Erik’s projects have been featured online at AV Club, Nerdist.com, Twitch, and Geek & Sundry, and in print in Graphic Design USA and the Washington Post.

What an amazing trip to England this year, coming back with not one, but TWO awards from UKGE for Luthier! 🇬🇧 We won Best Euro Game from the judges, and then then received the Audience Choice Award for Best Strategic Game at the end of the show! 🎉 Congrats to my co-designer Abe Burson, as well as the rest of the team - what an honor!

We've got cameras, smoke machines, and even a wind machine (okay, technically it's a leaf blower 🍃😂) helping bring the world of Ringyō to life.

🏆🏆 LUTHIER - DOUBLE UKGE AWARD WINNER! 🏆🏆

We're absolutely thrilled to announce that Luthier won the People's Choice Award for Best Strategy Game at UK Games Expo 2026!

To take home both the Judges' Choice Award and the People's Choice Award is just INCREDIBLE!
All weekend we had tables full of players, the response to Luthier has been beyond anything we could have hoped for. Knowing that so many of you have connected with the game, enjoyed it, and championed it enough to vote for it is simply amazing.
