UW-Stout Performing Arts

UW-Stout Performing Arts Take the stage at University of Wisconsin–Stout: get involved in band, choir, or theatre! Courses will be a combination of applied, theory, and survey courses.

The UW-Stout theatre, band and choir welcome you to explore the performing arts on our campus. These groups provide a creative outlet to students that have enjoyed and developed skills as performers and wish to further refine and explore their artistic talents. Participation in music and theatre teaches expression beyond the written and spoken word, connects to a tradition of cultural awareness an

d explores creative new works of art. The performing arts investigate our expressions of humanity, unite multiple subject areas and draw people together, allowing them to relate in meaningful and enduring ways. Being involved in the performing arts is a great way to meet other students, become part of a group and demonstrate to future employers that you are a dedicated team player and have attention to detail. Experiencing a live performance as an audience member - or on the stage - is a memorable and powerful event that generates thought, discussion and interaction. For the performer or audience member, being a part of the performing arts is a lifelong activity that builds relationships and communities. Effective Fall of 2015, UW-Stout will offer a performing arts minor, consisting of 18 credits in music and theatre. Please contact Dr. Jerry Hui for more information.

The Stout Symphonic Singers, Chamber Choir and Devil Tones Acappella Spring program explores the topic of "Questions." As our graduates move on to build a better world, they will be faced with many uncertainties. Questions come in many forms: rhetorical, spiritual, intellectual. Fear, awe, and wonder lead to different kinds of questions. We invite you to join us in a musical exploration of "why?"
UW-Stout students attend free with their current student ID!
The performance is on Saturday, April 25th at 7:00pm at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Come and enjoy a wonderful evening of singing!
