🎵 It starts with a note. It can shape a lifetime.
Think about the music teacher who first encouraged you to sing, pick up an instrument, or try something you weren't sure you could do.
Maybe it was the band director who believed in you.
The choir teacher who helped you find your voice.
Or the elementary music teacher who introduced you to the joy of making music.
Great music teachers do more than teach notes, rhythms, and melodies.
They help students develop confidence, creativity, discipline, and an appreciation for something that can enrich their lives for years to come.
At the Concordia University Wisconsin School of Education, we're preparing the next generation of music educators to make that kind of difference.
Our Bachelor of Arts in K–12 Music Education combines musical development with professional teacher preparation.

Students study music theory, composition, conducting, and music history while participating in ensembles and gaining practical teaching experience in schools.
Through Concordia's Christ-centered approach to education, future teachers also explore what it means to use their God-given gifts in service to others.
Whether leading a choir, directing a band, or introducing young children to music for the first time, music educators have opportunities to influence students far beyond the classroom.
It starts with a note. It can shape a lifetime.
