Plant Sale Highlights 🌱✨

Is anyone else still thinking about the Plant Sale? Because we are!

Merced College’s Environmental Horticulture program hosted another successful annual Plant Sale, and this year definitely made history!

For the first time, our Plant Sale was hosted in our brand new greenhouse facilities and welcomed over 1,300 customer sign-ups. Along with that, 35 dedicated individuals helped make this year possible, from faculty and student volunteers to alumni.

This year’s Plant Sale sold over 11,000 plants, ranging from ornamentals and vegetables to succulents and custom student projects.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our program! We can’t wait to see you all again next year! 🌸🪴

2026 Merced College Ag Bound Day is in the books! 🌟

On May 11th, we held our 2nd Annual MC Ag Bound Day!

We welcomed incoming students to their future classmates and campus! 📚

Students were able to meet some of our faculty, get their physical ID Cards, take a campus and ag facilities tour, create a comprehensive education plan and meet some of our Ag Ambassadors! 📝

Our Ag Ambassadors assisted with tours, orientation workshops, and got to meet with all the students one on one about student-campus life, future career plans and so much more! ✨

We can’t wait to see all of you this Fall! Congratulations in choosing Merced College Ag!

A big thank you to Steppingstone Nursery in Atwater, CA for lending their beautiful plants for our AgIT Certificate Recognition Ceremony last night. We welcomed over 150 students receiving certificates, along with more than 1,000 family members and guests!

I'm sure you have all heard the saying "It takes a village." Well, comprehensive workforce development is just an incomplete buzz phrase without community engagement. Our benches were full, and now they are empty, so thank you for creating the "space" for students to learn through our Environmental Horticulture Program. This sale provides a real-world experience for students that cannot be mimicked in a classroom. Check out this highlight video and stay to the end for the stats.
