Resource Center for Community Engaged Scholarship

Resource Center for Community Engaged Scholarship UC Merced's Resource Center for Community Engaged Scholarship (ReCCES) supports collaborative research partnerships between the university and community.

Originally established as the Chancellor’s Task Force on Community Engaged Scholarship in 2009, the Resource Center for Community Engaged Scholarship (ReCCES) solidified its place at the University of California, Merced in 2012 by becoming an institutional fixture on the campus. Supported by chancellors and senior faculty, ReCCES has been an active force in supporting collaborative research betwee

n faculty and community partners. To do this, Dr. Robin DeLugan and Dr. Steve Roussos have sought to identify those engaged in community engaged scholarship (CES) at UC Merced as well as other University of California campuses; establish opportunities for learning about CES for UC Merced faculty and community members; provide a liaison to promote mutually beneficial collaborations between community and academic partners to produce more effective research and contribute to community goals; identify funding opportunities to support CES; and develop a community advisory board to help facilitate CES at UC Merced.
