Raised in the Treasure Valley in a first-generation immigrant family, Freddy has dedicated his medical training to serving rural and Spanish-speaking communities. Through his work as a Spanish medical interpreter and volunteer in student-led clinics, he has demonstrated a commitment to making healthcare more accessible and culturally responsive.

Congratulations to Student Physician Aspynn Owsley, recipient of the 2026 Saint Alphonsus Primary Care Rural Health Scholarship!

A lifelong Idahoan from Kuna and a third-year student at ICOM, Aspynn is passionate about improving access to care for children and families in underserved communities. Inspired by her experiences growing up in rural Idaho and working with children in foster care, she plans to return to rural communities as a pediatrician providing trauma-informed care.
