Hello everyone! ISU Meridian ASL Club is partnering with IdahoRID (please join us in thanking them!) to host a watch party at the CDHH office. This is a free event aimed at bringing interested members together to watch and reflect on the importance of interpreting with a Deaf Heart; how to continue building allyship, and support access for Deaf students during their formative years.

We will be providing snacks and lunch. If you are seeking CEUs, please register with both IdahoRID and The Silent Garden. I’ll post the registration QR code for The Silent Garden in the comments. Or, you will be directed to a link when you register for the event with IdahoRID.

If you have any questions, please contact IdahoRID for assistance. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up soon!

“My creative and intellectual interests are heavily in the areas of Deaf history and identity among people from all walks of life,” shared Spring Resident Ellen Mansfield, “I am deeply committed to engaging the community, both Deaf and hearing, in learning about De’VIA, along with James Castle’s pioneering work. It’s crucial that people understand how language, inclusion, and communication are key elements to life — especially for those who are Deaf.”

Learn more about Ellen by joining us at the following events:

📌Inside the Studio: March 2, March 16, and March 23, all 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

📌 Workshop: Everything is Seeing: March 9, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

📌Hybrid Final Presentation and Studio Tour: April 5, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

We are so excited to finally open registration for our annual immersion weekend! It's a little later than any of us had anticipated, but we hope this is made up by the fact that it will be hosted at ISU-Meridian's campus on Locust Grove off of I-84. We can't wait to share more details regarding the schedule, but, for now, please sign up as soon as you can! Don't forget to spread the word! :)
