MCC is a Hispanic Serving Institution and nearly 50% of its students are the first in their families to attend college. Its American Indian Institute serves students from the 22 federally recognized tribes of Arizona as well as out-of-state tribes. MCC has the largest indigenous student population of all the Maricopa Community Colleges. The diverse student body includes more than 300 international students from 55 countries. Award-winning faculty are dedicated to student success, providing the education and training that empowers MCC students to successfully transfer to a university or compete in the workforce. Located in the East Valley of Phoenix, Arizona, on the traditional territories of the O'odham, Piipaash and Yavapi Peoples, MCC is one of 10 colleges in the Maricopa County Community College District.

Astronomy Nights are back at Mesa Community College! 🔭 Join us Friday, Sept. 4, at the MCC Planetarium for Ice Worlds, a journey from Earth’s frozen poles to the icy moons of the giant planets.

Showtimes are 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 p.m. Doors open shortly after 4:30 p.m. for the first show. Tickets are not required for this show and seating is first-come, first-served.

Campus was buzzing last week! ⚡ Welcome Week brought students together at both campuses with welcome booths, soda floats with student government and much more. The week continued with the VPAA Part Two Summit: From Vision to Learning, while MCC student government presented at their Governing Board meeting.

Congratulations to members of Mesa Community College’s Desert Echoes Flute Project on their recognition at the National Flute Association Convention in Portland.

Danny Morissett earned second place in the Jazz Artist Competition. Linda Bailey and Alicia Wardell were among 29 flutists selected from across the U.S. and Canada to perform in the NFA Professional Choir.

Way to go, Thunderbirds! 💙
