FIU Center for Leadership At the Center for Leadership at FIU, leadership development is our work and our passion.

We partner with great leaders to help them find ways to become even better – every day. At the Center for Leadership, we are dedicated to exploring leadership thought and practice through continuous research, providing opportunities for leaders to develop keen self-insight, and teaching leadership competencies that will equip them to meaningfully transform their organizations and their societies. Through our research, executive development programs, and community engagement opportunities, we are building better leaders for a better world.

We’re glad to welcome back the school leaders of PLDP Cohort XVII for their first follow-up session after completing the summer cohort. Together, they revisited and built on key leadership skills through sessions on communicating as a leader, problem-solving, and coaching for success.

From workplace challenge to working prototype—all in one morning.

During our latest AI Build Lab, participants moved beyond the conversation and experienced what it means to build with AI. They explored new tools, tested ideas, collaborated with others, and created practical solutions connected to their own work.

The goal wasn’t perfection—it was progress through experimentation. Participants left with tangible prototypes, greater confidence, and new possibilities they can continue developing long after the session.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and embraced the opportunity to learn by doing. In an AI-enabled world, the leaders shaping what comes next will be the ones willing to explore, experiment, and build.
