It was a privilege to welcome Seval Oz, Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology at the U.S. Department of Transportation, to see that work in action alongside FIU President Jeanette Nuñez, Dean Jack Puleo, members of the Florida Congressional and State Delegation, and transportation leaders.
 
Led by Professor Atorod Azizinamini, the showcase highlighted research and technologies developed at FIU that are improving infrastructure resilience and delivering real-world solutions across the country.

Professor S. S. Iyengar, Distinguished University Professor and director of FIU’s Center of Excellence in Digital Forensics, has been named a 2026 inductee into the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame.

This recognition honors his groundbreaking contributions to distributed sensor networks, artificial intelligence and intelligent systems, as well as his impact on technologies used in disaster preparedness and national defense.

Congratulations to Professor Iyengar on this recognition.
