Miami University Regionals TRiO Student Support Services

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a program for eligible Regionals students that provides free

We are located in 008 Johnston Hall at Miami Middletown and the Rentschler Library (Room 214) at Miami Hamilton. TRiO is a set of federally-funded college opportunity programs that motivate and support students whose educational and economic background that make the pursuit of a college degree difficult. Over 850,000 Pell recipients, first-generation students and students with disabilities from si

xth grade through college graduation are served by more than 2,800 programs nationally. TRiO programs provide academic tutoring, personal counseling, mentoring, financial guidance, and other supports necessary so that TRiO students can focus on earning a degree.

We made it to Chicago yesterday for the final stop on our graduate school tour. Some of us did some shopping while others went on a River Boat Cruise to learn about the architecture of Chicago. It was pouring rain when we arrived, but the weather cleared up just in time for us to enjoy the city for a bit.

Today, we are touring the University of Illinois Chicago before we head home to Hamilton.

It’s day two of our three-day graduate school tour, and today we visited the University of Notre Dame! The campus was lovely, and the people were kind. We learned that there are all kinds of funding for graduate work at Notre Dame, and how to stand apart from other applicants we’re competing against. It was a great visit.

Next and final stop: Chicago!

We kick off final exam week with a celebration of soon-to-be graduate and TRIO student Hai Nguyen. You might recognize Hai from your student orientation day or other on-campus events - he's been very active in student activities. Please join us in congratulating him on his achievements.
