"The NJROTC Unit from Hamilton High School became the NJROTC Area 3 East Champions and earned the privilege to participate in the NJROTC Academic, Athletic and Drill Championships at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL. Competing against the top 13 NJROTC programs from Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana and Michigan, Hamilton took 1st Place in the Uniform Personnel Inspection, Armed Basic Drill, Armed Exhibition, UnArmed Exhibition and Athletics, as well as a 3rd Place finish in Academics. The competition was held on Friday and Saturday, 3 and 4 March at Central Crossings High School in Grove City, OH. The Cadet Commander of the Unit is Cadet/LCDR Kaylynn Kalama who commanded the Uniform Personnel Inspection and the UnArmed Exhibition Team. Cadet/CPO Brandon Kalama commanded the Armed Basic Drill and Armed Exhibition Teams. Cadet/ENS Bryce Williams commanded the UnArmed Basic Drill and Academic Teams. Cadet/PO1 Ryan Jovanovich commanded the Athletic Team and Cadet/MCPO commanded the Color Guard Team. The NJROTC Academic, Athletic and Drill Championships will be held on Friday and Saturday, 7 and 8 April. This is the third year in a row that Hamilton's Unit has earned the right to attend this event. Last year's Area 3 East Champion, Northmont High School came in a very close 2nd Place. Hamilton's Unit is instructed by CAPT Jim Allison, USN (ret) and GySgt Todd McAlister, USMC (ret)."
