Today, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® pauses in sisterhood and reverence as we honor the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of Reverend Jesse Jackson.

A tireless champion for justice, Rev. Jackson stood on the frontlines of the Civil Rights Movement, working alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and later founding the Rainbow PUSH Coalition to advance economic empowerment, voting rights, and educational equity. His historic presidential campaigns in 1984 and 1988 expanded the political imagination of our nation, inspiring generations to believe that leadership at the highest levels was within reach.

As a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, our beloved Divine 9 Brother, he exemplified scholarship, perseverance, and uplift in action. With unwavering faith and fearless advocacy, he reminded us to “Keep Hope Alive,” a phrase that became both a rallying cry and a roadmap for progress.

We honor his courage. We honor his conviction. We honor his commitment to service.

And in true sisterly solidarity, we will continue the work, lifting every voice, serving all mankind, and choosing always to keep hope alive.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Mu Alpha Omega Chapter partnered with United Way and Midland Public Schools to create Valentine’s Day cards. The United Way will distribute the cards in Meals on Wheels on Valentine’s Day to seniors and homebound residents - small acts of kindness that share love and connection across our community.

Proud to serve with heart and sisterhood as we continue Dr. King’s legacy in action. 💕💚

In this 100th year of the observance first launched by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, we honor a legacy that began as a week of recognition and grew into a month of national reflection and celebration.

Happy 118th Founders’ Day, Sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®!

On this special day, January 15, 1908, nine phenomenal women at Howard University lit a spark that grew into a vibrant, global sisterhood.

From Miner Hall to the world, we now stand over 360,000 strong across several nations including, the U.S., Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, UAE, Germany, Japan, Liberia, Nigeria, South Korea, South Africa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, United Kingdom, and Puerto Rico united in purpose, service, and sisterly love.

As we continue to Soar to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood under the 2022–2026 Administration, we honor the extraordinary legacy of our Founders and celebrate the generations of women who carry their vision forward.

Here’s to 118 years of impact, elegance, leadership, and love. And here’s to soaring even higher—together! 🩷💚

As we approach the 118th Founders’ Day of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, we are reminded of our enduring commitment to Service to All Mankind.

Through the Alpha Kappa Alpha CHIPP (Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack) Program, the Mu Alpha Omega Chapter for the past eighteen months have been honored to support Saginaw Preparatory Academy students by helping ensure they have access to nutritious food resources that promote success both in and out of the classroom.

Thank you to the incredible Saginaw Prep staff for your partnership, unwavering dedication to your students, and for the joy and enthusiasm shared with us during delivery.

We are also deeply grateful to the Midland community for coming together last month for our Service, Sip & Shimmy—a day of packing with purpose. Because of your time, energy, and support, we continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our youth.

To kick off 2026, we delivered bags of food to Saginaw Prep students during their first week back to school. We look forward to continued service and impact throughout the year. 💕💚
