This week 10 of our members took on Kansas City, Missouri to attend one of our certificate's requirements, The AMI Conference. These students were able to network with nonprofit professionals, attend a consultation day with a nonprofit, and more. We are so proud for 2 of these students(Sabrina Brant and Brittany Smith) for being ambassadors and helping out all the first time attendees. On behalf of Georgia College, 3 students presented(Janae Innis, Ada Montgomery, and Sabrina Brant) and took home 3rd place for the poster presentation done on "Community Networking." We can't wait to continue to see these students grow and soon become Certified Nonprofit Professionals.

Along with taking 5 classes, completing a 300 hour internship, and being active participants at our local chapter, we also need to attend a National Conference in order to complete our certification. This year we are sending 10 of our dedicated and passionate students to Kansas City, Missouri in January 2018 and we need your help! At the conference, students will have the opportunity to attend workshops, network, interview a nonprofit professional, and consult for a local organization. Support us in anyway even it's by sharing our GoFundMe, we are so excited to take on the AMI Conference in Kansas City!

Our first Alumni Spotlight goes to Natalie Flanders, she started a nonprofit called Girls Grow, "Being apart of NLSA helped me refine my leadership skills and gave me exposure to many different types of nonprofits. The process of starting Girls Grow Inc. is one that NLA really helped me prepare for. On the programming side I have to work on scaling our chapters, developing curriculum, and building our brand. On the operational side I've had to apply for incorporation, file 501(c)(3) paperwork, build a board of directors, and apply for grants. While each step feels daunting and there's a lot of progress to be made, it's a relief when time passes and I look back and see just how far I've come!" Way to go, Natalie! We are excited to see all that you will continue to accomplish.
