The Trinity Fellows Program of Marquette University was created in keeping with an ideal central to the university’s mission - the promotion of justice and faith through service - to develop urban leaders with a commitment to social and economic justice. Trinity Fellows participate in a 21-month study/work program while earning Master’s degrees in a variety of fields. Fellows are expected to compl

ete their Master’s program in two years. In addition to their full time studies, Fellows work in meaningful, substantive projects designed by selected nonprofit organizations in the Milwaukee area. All Fellows must have completed full-time volunteer service in the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Jesuit Volunteer Corps, Lutheran Volunteer Corps, or other comparable volunteer organization, OR have worked 2+ years full-time in a nonprofit organization.

Our rising second year Fellows continue to grow as reflective, justice oriented leaders, grounding their work in gratitude, community, and the sharing of their strengths. Their presence reminds us that leadership rooted in care and connection can help shape a more hopeful and just world.

Special thank you to the Trinity social committee members Danielle, Elizabeth, Abdul, and Emmanuel for coordinating the programming for our recent graduation celebration!

Yuri Kochiyama was a civil rights activist that drew inspiration from Malcolm X and other leaders pursuing change in 1960’s America. A survivor of Japanese internment, Kochiyama spoke out against all kinds of oppression alongside African American, Asian American and Puerto Rican social justice leaders. Kochiyama was not only present for Malcolm X’s assassination, but was one of few individuals that ran to the slain leader to comfort him as he died.

To the Trinity Fellows Class of 2026, congratulations on your recent graduation!

We are incredibly proud of your commitment to justice, community, and living your values with courage and compassion.

Over the past 21 months, you have shown up for Milwaukee communities, supported one another through moments of challenge and growth, and deepened your leadership in ways that will continue to ripple far beyond Trinity.

We cannot wait to see how you continue to lead and create change in the world!

The Trinity family just grew by TWO!

Two of our current fellows recently had babies, and we could not be more excited about both of these arrivals. Below are photos from the epic "Baby Sprinkle," which included some cut-throat baby shower games, and lots of laughs. It's so much fun to celebrate our community!

Thank you to the agencies that attended today's Agency Reflection and to our hosts, Data You Can Use! Our focus today was on our program outcomes and how these are embodied by our Trinity Fellows. Supervisors were asked to consider ways they can support their fellow's growth, and were also given a chance to talk about how hosting a fellow as influenced their own leadership growth.

Here are the four major themes of our Trinity Program Outcomes, which were identified by Ubuntu Research and Evaluation
1. Deeper Understanding of Self and Others
2. Occurrences of Building Community
3. Raised Social Consciousness and Awareness
4. Capacity Developed and Embodied

Our first year Trinity Fellows presented their PechaKucha during their first Trinity course with Jerica Broeckling. A PechaKucha is a fast-paced storytelling format where the presenters show 20 slides for 20 seconds each, totaling 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Fellows got to choose their own topic and presented to their class, and Trinity staff are always invited. It’s become a fun tradition and we always leave proud.
