All are welcome to join the Mount Mary community as we celebrate Ash Wednesday Mass together at noon on March 6th in Our Lady Chapel. This Mass is open to the public! You may park for free in the larger lot off 92nd St. See you there 🙏🏽🙌🏽

Hey, have you missed us?? We've been quiet over the winter break but are excited that the new semester is upon us! Below is a lovely prayer from this morning's All University Workshop. Take a moment, a deep breath, and welcome the Spirit!

A new year stands on my doorstep, ready to enter my life’s journey.

Something in me welcomes this visitor: the hope of boundless blessings, the joy of a new beginning, the freshness of unclaimed surprises.

Something in me rebuffs this visitor: the swiftness of the coming, the boldness of the entrance, the challenge of a year’s good-bye.

Something in me fears this visitor: the unnamed events of future days, the wisdom needed to walk love well, the demands of giving away and growing.

A new year stands on my doorstep. With fragile caution, I move to open the door for its entrance. My heart leaps with surprise and joy floods my being, for there beside this brand-new year stands my God with outstretched hand! God looks into my eyes and gently asks: Can we walk this year together?

And I, overwhelmed with Presence and the Support I need, whisper my reply: Welcome in!

God of this new year, we are walking into mystery. We face the future, not knowing what the days and months will bring to us or how we will respond. Be light and love in us as we journey. May we welcome all who come our way. Fill us with hope and an abiding trust that you dwell in us amidst all our sorrows and joys. May we arise each day with the assurance that your Presence is walking with us. God of this new year, may we meet your invitation with gratitude and courage. Amen. [adapted from Joyce Rupp]
