Check out one of the leadership projects that is taking place in Dr. Stacy Jensen's COM 333 Leadership and Communication class!
Meet Lillian Hanmann, a 19-year-old student at Wisconsin Lutheran College who’s not only studying Leadership and Communications but is also living it out! Inspired by her sponsored child in Guatemala, Lillian took on a unique community service project as part of her Christian Leadership program. She decided to make a difference by organizing a Candy Apple Fundraiser — and it was a sweet success! 🍎 🍎 🍎
With donated apples from Patterson Orchards, Lillian and a group of friends spent a weekend making delicious caramel apples.
“The best part was how our community came together to support a great cause,” Lillian shared. At a local football game, they sold the candy apples and raised $600 for her sponsored child's community in Guatemala.
Why did she do it? Lillian first learned about Food for the Hungry’s sponsorship program at a TobyMac concert and felt called to help. Her passion for creating impact led her to dream up this fundraiser, and she hopes to continue supporting FH’s work to bring lasting change.
