Special Announcement: Meet 50 Under 50 Honoree Shoyla Bryant

We are proud to recognize Shoyla Bryant as one of this year’s Roy Griggs 50 Under 50 Award Honorees!

A passionate educator, devoted mother, and community servant, Shoyla Bryant is a proud native of Plain Dealing, Louisiana, now residing in Bossier City. With over 18 years of experience in education, she has served in impactful roles including Career Teacher, Mentor Teacher, Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, and Principal—all while raising three sons.

Shoyla earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Grambling State University and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from East Texas Baptist University. Her training through the National Institute of School Leaders continues to shape her student-centered approach—focusing on data, demographics, and equity to ensure every child receives a quality education.

Her personal philosophy is simple but powerful: “No matter the race, gender, age, or socioeconomic status of a person—one can learn.”

Beyond the classroom, Shoyla is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., and the Order of Eastern Star, Erma S. Lee Chapter #170. She serves faithfully as Youth Director and a Praise Team member at New Love Restoration Church, under the leadership of Pastor Lovelle Butler.

Whether leading schools, mentoring youth, or worshipping through song, Shoyla lives her life by this belief: “In all things, God gets the glory and I get the privilege.”
