Sigma Alpha Epsilon - Minnesota Alpha

Sigma Alpha Epsilon - Minnesota Alpha Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity was founded at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa on March 9, 1856 University of Alabama

ΣΑΕ is North America’s largest social fraternity with more than 290,000 initiated members. Fraternal symbols include the lion, the phoenix, Minerva, and the fleur-de-lis. Sigma Alpha Epsilon was the first fraternity to establish a national headquarters (1929), a national Leadership School (1935), a national Men’s Health Issues Committee (1980), and a career-development program entitled the Leading

Edge (1990). Currently, the Fraternity offers a comprehensive member-education program called The True Gentleman Initiative. The Fraternity communicates through The Record magazine, a quarterly publication that has been published continuously since 1880. New members receive a copy of The Phoenix pledge manual for educational development. The mission of Sigma Alpha Epsilon is to promote the highest standards of friendship, scholarship, and service for our members based upon the ideals set forth by our Founders and as specifically enunciated in our creed the True Gentleman:

"The True Gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control is equal to all emergencies; who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity; who is himself humbled if necessity compels him to humble another; who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast of his own possessions or achievements; who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deed follows his word; who thinks of the rights and feelings of others, rather than his own; and who appears well in any company, a man with whom honor is sacred and virtue safe." - John Walter Wayland

Brothers, Family, and Friends,

The beginning of the 2019-20 school year is fast approaching as we reach the midpoint of summer, and MN Alpha could not be more excited for another year on campus. As the largest social fraternity in the nation, we are always looking for potential new members that are interested.

If you, a friend or family member knows someone who would be a great fit, reach out to our Fall 2019 Rush Directors: Jack Finley at (763) 248-8227 or Noah Krafft at (952) 463-0011. We look forward to the upcoming Fall 2019 Formal Rush season, and we will be updating our events on here as we get closer to the start of the academic year. We hope you have a great rest of the summer, and as always, Phi Alpha!

Brothers, family, and friends,

MN Alpha has committed to raising raising awareness for men's health by participating in the Movember Foundations annual fundraiser by growing out our facial hair for the entire month of November.

Every member of our team has set a personal goal of $200 throughout the month. Donations can be made to individual members or to the team as a whole. A donation of any amount goes a long way in helping us reach our goal! Thank you in advance for all donations and a hearty Phi Alpha to all actives and alumni that donate.

Movember, the month formerly known as November, is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men's health.

This is the statement written by our national board concerning the Oklahoma Kappa chapter. Our ideals and values completely agree with our national fraternity. The sad actions of a few do not represent Sigma Alpha Epsilon as a whole. - http://t.co/CHNLvp1Ijw
