Data analysts transform data into interpretable statistics. They are responsible for finding, understanding, and communicating about patterns and insights from the data. In the field of psychology, data analysts often work with large datasets. They examine survey responses, track behavioral patterns, and investigate relationships between experimental variables. Data analysts are crucial in making sense of complex, multifaceted psychological phenomena. Some skills relevant to this career path include research experience, formal mathematics education, and programming.

Interested in adding a minor to your Psych Major? Each month the Dept. will highlight a minor program and the benefits of pairing it with your major! This month - Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies! Gender and sexuality are always relevant lenses for understanding how the world around us operates, and especially how people think! This minor provides an opportunity for psychology majors (and everyone else) to learn more about how gender and sexuality impact us. The classes are typically more theory-based.

Disability Examiners often work with social security in order to help a person get as many benefits as possible for applicants from insurance companies. They determine whether or not to grant or deny a person applying for these benefits. In order to do so, a disability examiner will, appropriately, look into that person's relevant medical information as evidence from botht applicants and doctors. The final decision is based on this gathered information and then further the disability examiner will determine the amount of benefits the applicant recieves based on said medical evidence. Some relevant skills to have for this field is knowledge on disability laws, workers' compensation laws, and effective written and spoken communication.
