I am collaborating on an anthology on chronic illness. It will be released sometime in May. The book is called: Can't Someone Fix What Ails Me? 21 Stories of Chronic Illness

Our book cover is complete! Check it out! Thanks to Sue Stein, our cover designer.

We have stories from all over the WORLD! We are thrilled to represent all types of stories, genders, ages, backgrounds, locations, journies, and medical diagnosis. Each ones of these stories has been through a lot, but offers a ray of hope despite challenges.

What's your word of the year? For the past few years instead of resolutions I have been focusing on a word. Last year was very hard for me, I couldn't really pick a word, as I was just trying to live day by day. This year it is still hard, but my intention or word is Resilience. Many people have said that I have great resilience despite what life has thrown at me. I want to continue this year remind myself of the resilient strength I have. I bought this hand made braclet to remind myself of my word or intention.

Here were my past words:
2014-Accept
2015-Hope
2016-Trust
2017-Gratitude
2018-Present
2020-Resileince

What's your word?

Hey friends!
My friend Barb Hynes-Tomczyk and I are putting together a book! We've both written part of it AND collected stories from others regarding chronic illness. LIKE us if you want to know when it's ready and know the process. It's been an amazing collaborative process and I'm so grateful for this opportunity to share these stories of inspiration, hope, and education.

Look for 'Can't Someone Fix What Ails Me.'

Go see "A Christmas Carol" at the Guthrie Theater with the magic of the globe... my review showed here.

There is often a sense of magic that floats in the air in the season of Christmas--a sense of spark. People often call it “Christmas magic.” The Guthrie’s A Christmas Carols’ Director Lauren Keating gave me Christmas magic when she gave me the gift of the globe. From the top of the show wher...

As we ring in the New Year I sit and pause for a moment to count the blessings of 2018. While 2018 has has ups and downs I would like to reflect on the positives and good moments for a moment. (in order of the years... sorta, as best as I recall)

Yay Rah Rah! Go for it!
Best,

Dear Writers: We’re SO happy you’re willing to share your story. We need real people with real voices. We hope to create an anthology of all our stories, so we can spread awareness, understanding, hope, and inspiration.
Some information for you:
1) Please use size 12 font
2) Double spaced
3) Up to 10 pages long (shorter is great too!)
4) Will be edited and sent back to you for final approval before publishing
5) Deadline: Friday, Nov. 30

Please send to: Nikki Abramson [email protected] or Barb Hynes-Tomczyk [email protected] If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to either one of us.

Below are some ideas /prompts if you’re stuck somewhere in the process: - A description of your condition/disability - How the condition impacts your life - What helps you physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually? - What you would like others to know about your journey - What someone can learn from your story - Describe a moment in your life that stands out. Why does it stand out? What did you take away from it – good or bad? If it’s negative, how do you combat its effects? - Have there been any moments of silliness or humor that have helped you? - How does your condition affect your relationship/s with others in your life?
