We would like to welcome Dr. Gregory Berumen
Sánchez to TCRTC. Gregory is a scientist and chemical engineer with expertise in extracellular vesicles, radiation biology, and intercellular communication in disease. Raised in Texas, he earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from before completing his Ph.D. at . His doctoral research focused on how radiation therapy influences cell-to-cell
communication in breast cancer, with an emphasis on extracellular vesicle-mediated signaling. During his doctoral studies, he published two first-author papers and a highly cited review on extracellular vesicles in tissue injury and disease.

We are excited to welcome Angela Bruzina, PhD, RD, to TCRTC. Angela is a registered dietitian and PhD-trained researcher focused on metabolic adaptations to traumatic orthopedic injury. She completed her doctorate in Kinesiology under Center member Sarah Greising, PhD, at , where she developed experience in small and large animal models of musculoskeletal trauma. Her work centers on whole-body metabolic and local tissue responses following injury, with a particular interest in how biological s*x influences these responses.
