Dougherty Family College Dougherty Family College offers a two-year associate of arts degree in the liberal arts from the University of St. Thomas.

The Dougherty Family College opened in the fall of 2017 on the downtown Minneapolis campus. Offering an associate degree in liberal arts, the college's curriculum will be rigorous and provide graduates with a seamless transition to public or private institutions should they decide to pursue a bachelor's degree. Students will receive mentoring from St. Thomas faculty, participate in paid internship

s and enjoy the benefits of being part of the state's largest private university. The college is named for Mike Dougherty and his family, who "want to give motivated, hard-working students the opportunity to succeed in college so they can use their talents and support themselves in the future."

We know what outcomes are for students who have missed time in school, have uneven preparation, and face new barriers to persistence due to our political climate.

These challenges don’t end at graduation. They follow students into college and career.

That’s why partnership matters now more than ever, and we are excited to partner with Wallin Education Partners on this new scholarship opportunity for our students. And today, we celebrate our students who are now Wallin Scholars after last night’s celebration!

In partnership with Wallin Education Partners, we’re expanding the ways support can look for students. And we’re not alone.

We are one of 12 community organizations identifying students with talent and drive to provide support to our students to go further as Wallin Scholars.

This moment comes at the transition from high school to college, providing scholarships, advising, and career navigation to carry that momentum forward.

All of our organizations have different strengths. And we all share the same responsibility within an ecosystem that helps our young people thrive.

No single organization can carry a student from high school to career alone. That’s why we are partnering with Wallin Education Partners to extend that support through scholarships, advising, and career development.

Together, we create a continuum of care that bridges from our organization to theirs. This is how we move from access to persistence to outcomes.
