Dr. Margit Berman (she/they) is our newest faculty member in the Graduate School of Professional Psychology! She will teach Quantitative Methods of Inquiry, Diversity Issues in Counseling, Basic Counseling Skills, and Statistics in the 2025-26 academic year.

Dr. Berman received a Ph.D. in counseling and social psychology from the University of Minnesota. Their interests are in social justice advocacy training for psychologists and was a 2024 faculty fellow for the Center for Artistic Activism. Dr. Berman received the 2021 National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology’s President’s Leadership Award for her work developing and launching the Clinical Psychology PsyD Training Program at Augsburg University.

Dr. Berman is a feminist, cognitive-behavioral therapist who trains clinicians in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and self-acceptance based interventions throughout the U.S. Dr. Berman uses they/she pronouns and identifies as a genderqueer woman.
