Did you know that the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine's Animal Health Center offers large animal services to camelid species? Camelids are large herbivores with slender necks and long legs like camels, llamas and alpacas.

Meet Peco, a three-month-old llama who is experiencing some issues with standing and walking. Peco has been in the care of our medical team as they look to identify a cause, and he is currently going through rehab with the hope of regaining full mobility soon. For more information on the large animal services that the CVM offers, visit vethospitals.msstate.edu/farmanimal.

The Animal Health Center at the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine has received an exciting addition: an expanded small animal surgery ward!

The new surgery ward was made possible through the generosity of donors who have supported the CARE Fund. The CARE Fund, which stands for Companion Animals Require Excellence, was created in 1989 to address specific needs within the college’s ever-growing teaching hospital. Gifts may be made to the CARE Fund in memorial or honor of a pet, or to recognize the outstanding work of all those who care for our furry friends in the world around us.
