Eugene Butler Guest House

The Eugene Butler Guest House is a two story, eight room hotel located on campus at Mississippi State University. Most rooms contain two queen beds.

The construction of the Eugene Butler Guest House, completed in 1988, was made possible by gifts from Eugene Butler, a 1913 graduate of Mississippi State University. The guest house is located on the North side of the Williams building parallel to Walker Road and next to Davis Wade Stadium. A covered walkway connects it with the Williams building lobby. Each room has a telephone, cable television,

and complimentary wireless internet. There are two adjoining rooms on each level. The Butler Guest House was recently renovated (completed Spring 2017) to include updated bathrooms, furniture, decor, and atmosphere.

Mississippi State University will return to normal operations Tuesday Jan. 27 and is asking students, faculty and staff to monitor weather conditions and exercise caution and good judgment in making travel and personal safety decisions. MSU Extension and MAFES locations will follow unit leadership.

While much of North Mississippi continues to see major impacts from severe winter weather, students and employees unable to return to campus should communicate with their respective faculty members and supervisors. MSU leaders understand that those without power may have limited ability to communicate and will consider academic accommodation requests as deemed appropriate for individual circumstances.

Butler Guest House will be closing at 5PM on Friday, January 23, 2026 due to inclement regional winter weather. Please follow our socials for the latest update on our hours and reopening.

Happy Holidays! Butler Guest House will be closed alongside the university for Winter Break starting at 5pm on Monday, December 22nd, 2025. We will reopen at 8am on Monday, January 5th, 2026.

The university will be closed on Friday, January 2nd, 2026. Butler Guest House will be closed alongside the university until offices reopen on Monday, January 5th, 2026.

This will delay the beginning of our 2026 Football Waitlist until we reopen at 8AM on Monday, January 5th, 2026. Please adjust your plans accordingly if you are planning to rejoin the waitlist for next football season.
