Congratulations to Dr. Michele McDonnall and Dr. Karla Antonelli on receiving the the Best Research Paper Award from NARRTC, an association dedicated to federally funded disability and rehabilitation research.

Dr. McDonnall serves as director of our National Research and Training Center on Blindness and Low Vision, and Dr. Antonelli is a research scientist at NRTC. Dr. Emily Marett from the College of Business is also part of the award-winning team.

Freeman Scholar Spotlight: Charleigh Conlee
Charleigh is a teacher assistant at Vardaman Attendance Center and, with her recently earned bachelor’s degree in elementary education, will step into a new role as a fourth-grade math teacher there this fall.

“I chose to go into education because I believe that is God's calling on my life. I want to have a positive impact in students' lives and watch them grow in every aspect of their lives.”

We're proud of educational psychology faculty members Dr. Sareh Karami and Dr. Mehdi Garemani for bringing this dynamic space to life and continuing to expand its impact. It not only benefits children but also gives our students meaningful hands-on experiences.

Freeman Scholar Spotlight: Ashlyn Hope Armstrong
Ashlyn has served as an assistant teacher for five years at Greenlee Attendance Center in McCool. Now equipped with her newly earned bachelor’s degree in elementary education, she will step into a new role as a kindergarten teacher there this fall!

“Ever since I was five years old, I knew I wanted to be a teacher because I’ve always loved helping and encouraging others as they learn new things. Teaching feels natural to me, and I want to be the kind of teacher that makes students feel safe, confident, and excited to come to school.”
