From working on the team to managing it.

Roni Hecker came to UM’s Master of Public Administration program looking for practical skills that would complement her liberal arts education and create more opportunities in her career.

She earned her MPA while working 40 hours a week, putting lessons in budgeting, data analysis, human resources and organizational leadership to work almost immediately.

Today, Roni is the business development manager at Horizon Credit Union in Missoula.

“I was terrified to take some of these classes,” she said. “Now I’m managing the team I used to work with.”

See how UM’s MPA helped Roni build her skills, confidence and career:

One step closer to becoming attorneys.

The Blewett School of Law recently hosted Barchella, an event designed to help graduating students complete the bar exam application process in one place.

Students were able to take care of key steps like notarizing documents, fingerprinting and submitting their bar applications, while also accessing wellness resources — and enjoying snacks and therapy dog visits along the way.

It’s all part of supporting our students as they prepare for the next stage of their legal careers.
