Through scholarships, mentorship, and support for short-term financial needs, the group helps students overcome barriers and stay focused on their education and careers.

The Diesel Power Technology program involves more than just diesel engines—it connects theory with real-world troubleshooting to prepare students for the diesel industry.

When one of our CDL trucks began losing excessive air pressure on the road, our Diesel team stepped in. A quick phone call helped identify the problem, locate the needed part, and get the repair underway. After installing the part and verifying the issue was resolved, the team had the truck back up and running in no time.

Thank you to our Diesel program for helping keep our CDL trucks road-ready and in top shape!

Our second-year Social Services students recently toured the Human Services Center and Lewis & Clark Behavioral Health Services exploring future roles supporting individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. They also learned about the wide range of services provided through a community mental health center in South Dakota.

Grab your friends and stop by the Campus Center Breezeway for the Paint Your Nails Purple event, hosted by the MTC Nursing Department in support of Safe Place of Eastern South Dakota! Hollywood Style will also be on campus with purple hair extensions available for purchase.

Don’t want to paint your nails? An anonymous donor gave the Nursing Department 100 purple bandanas so you can show your support another way.

Mitchell Tech students, faculty, and staff came together to outline a cancer awareness ribbon in the grass—turning a familiar patch of campus into a powerful show of support for those affected by cancer.

We're excited to announce The BlackRock Foundation’s support for Mitchell Technical College Foundation through the BlackRock Future Builders initiative, which is helping expand access to skilled trades careers across the United States. The initiative supports organizations that are strengthening pathways into high-demand careers and helping more people connect to economic opportunity.

We're proud to be part of this inaugural national BlackRock Future Builders cohort.

This grant will expand our Rural Grid Builders initiative, supporting energy trades training for 240 participants over two years across South Dakota and the surrounding region. Through a mobile outreach unit, virtual-reality simulations and energy trades camps, we’ll also introduce 3,000 rural students to career opportunities—helping address skilled-worker shortages and bringing hands-on career exploration to more communities.
