šŸ“£ Calling All Nursing Students! šŸ“£

Mark your calendars—SNA Board Elections are happening May 6th!

We are currently looking to fill President and Vice President positions, with the possibility of additional roles opening depending on board transitions.

This is an amazing opportunity to get involved, build leadership skills, connect with your peers, and help shape the experience of nursing students in our program. Whether you’re already involved or just looking for a way to step outside your comfort zone, we encourage you to consider running!

If you decide to run, you’ll simply need to give a brief, informal speech about why you’d be a great fit for the role.

✨ Your voice matters. Your ideas matter. And this is your chance to make an impact.

Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there—we’d love to see new faces in leadership!

Feel free to reach out with any questions

As we wrap up an unforgettable experience at National Convention, we’re walking away feeling inspired, motivated, and incredibly grateful
Over the past few days, we’ve grown not only as nursing students, but as future leaders in healthcare, gaining knowledge, building connections, exploring new opportunities, and creating memories that will stay with us throughout our careers.
None of this would have been possible without the amazing support from our community. To everyone who donated, attended fundraisers, or supported us along the way: thank you! Your support truly made this experience possible, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you.
We also want to extend a huge thank you to the National Student Nurses’ Association for creating such an impactful and inspiring event and the Missouri Student Nurses’ Association for inspiring the local schools to continue to get involved. Opportunities like this remind us why we chose nursing in the first place.
Rumor has it next year’s convention might be in Florida šŸ‘€ā˜€ļø
If seeing our journey has sparked your interest, this is your sign to get involved! We’d love to have you join MACC SNA-reach out to learn more about how you can be part of the experience, leadership, and opportunities we’ve shared this week.
Here’s to the future of nursing-and the students who are shaping it

šŸ“ NSNA Convention – Day 3 Recap!
Day 3 was the perfect mix of learning, perspective, and exploration šŸŒŽšŸ’™
We continued strengthening our NCLEX skills with a review session focused on cardiovascular emergencies, cause-and-effect thinking, patient safety, and bow-tie style questions helping us build confidence in clinical judgment and prioritization.
Throughout the day, we attended hands-on simulation lab practice and several unique focus sessions, including topics like the role of animals in healthcare and correctional nursing. These sessions challenged us to think deeper about ethics, safety, empathy, professionalism, leadership, and the diverse paths within nursing.
Of course, we also made time to explore! ✨
We visited the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Holocaust Museum Houston (founded by a Holocaust survivor), and NASA’s Johnson Space Center where we saw Apollo rockets, boarded the Discovery shuttle and its transport aircraft, and explored the future of space travel in the Artemis exhibit. It's pretty cool to be able to say we visited NASA the same day the Artemis splashed down! šŸš€
We ended the day with a trip to Galveston, strolling through the historic Strand District, visiting the fish market, enjoying fresh Gulf seafood, and spending some time at the beach 🌊
This day was a reminder that being a nurse isn’t just about clinical skills-it’s about understanding people, history, innovation, and the world around us. Experiences like this shape us into more well-rounded, compassionate healthcare providers.
So grateful for the opportunity to learn, explore, and grow together

šŸ“ NSNA Convention – Day 2 Recap!
Day 2 was just as full, inspiring, and hands-on!
Our members continued building their NCLEX confidence with another review session, focusing on next-gen case studies, OB/pediatrics, and prioritization strategies-skills we’ll carry straight into practice.
One of the biggest highlights of the day was the plenary session on innovation in nursing. We heard from incredible leaders including a children’s hospital CNO, nurse educators, and founders who shared their personal journeys, challenges, and breakthroughs in healthcare innovation. Their stories sparked powerful conversations and reminded us that nurses truly have the ability to shape the future of healthcare.
We also explored the exhibit hall with 100+ exhibitors, connecting with schools, recruiters, and NCLEX resources, while continuing to support fellow students at the fundraising tables. Our graduating members were even able to pick up their SNA regalia-such a special moment! šŸŽ“
Throughout the day, we had opportunities for hands-on learning and skill-building, including:
🧠 A neurological assessment session with an overview of neuro nursing
🚨 A seizure first aid certification workshop where we all earned certification through the Epilepsy Foundation
🩺 An open simulation lab to practice clinical scenarios
And of course, the Patient Safety Tournament! A fast-paced, game show-style NCLEX competition that puts your knowledge to the test (and yes… still our president’s favorite part šŸ˜„).
We wrapped up the night with some classic Texas BBQ and even got to try a little line dancing 🤠
From clinical skills to innovation, networking to fun, we’re gaining experiences that will shape us into stronger, more confident future nurses!

šŸ“ NSNA Convention – Day 1
Our members jumped right into learning—attending sessions like the UWorld NCLEX review, where they sharpened strategies for tackling the dreaded select-all-that-apply and prioritization questions.
Our President and Vice President attended the Presidential Leadership Forum, where they explored the power of using our voices as student nurses, the challenges of speaking up, and the responsibility we have to advocate for change in our profession.
We had the opportunity to attend multiple focus sessions, including one on non-traditional nursing careers, highlighting opportunities in forensics, telehealth, informatics, research, travel nursing, flight, military, public health, and more. Another on choosing a specialty, reminding us not to be afraid to grow, explore, and build our skills, and an amazing pharmacology boot camp focused on making complex medications easier to understand and apply in practice.
The afternoon included the Awards Ceremony, recognizing excellence in leadership, service, and innovation across students, schools, and state associations. Truly inspiring to see what nursing students across the country are accomplishing.
We also explored fundraising booths from other chapters, supporting fellow nursing students and seeing the creativity behind their efforts. Another reminder of how fundraising directly supports opportunities like this.
After a full day of learning and inspiration, we wrapped it up with the Opening Ceremony, some amazing Tex-Mex, and the Opening Night Party-complete with dancing, networking, and connecting with students from all over the country
A few of us even got to explore Houston a bit to end the night!
This is exactly what your support and fundraising make possible- real experiences, real connections, and real growth as future nurses
